“Waiters are among the friendliest in the capital”

— Islington Gazette

“We had so much to eat there as the food was good, in particular the chicken curry was delicious followed on by a lamb dupiaza which was excellent too”.

“The huge variety of choice at Kitchin which makes it ideal for family meals.
Although the basic prices are very reasonable, there are other offers including a fifty per cent discount, free drinks and there are other special deals from time to time. This must be the best value in town and for buffet food it is of a very high quality indeed. If you are ravenously hungry, then there’s no better place for a really good feed.”

“We began our main course with Thai food and had yellow curry, sweet and sour chicken and beef curry with steamed rice. The yellow vegetable curry was perfect; it contained courgettes, mushrooms and green beans cooked in a very flavoursome sauce which lingered on the taste buds leaving you wanting more and being a buffet, more we did have!”

Can't decide whether to go for Indian, Chinese, Thai, or Italian? There is a simple solution at hand - Kitchin N1.
Styling itself as a buffet restaurant with "inspiration from the spice routes of old", it aims to tempt indecisive customers with four cuisine stations around a self-serve counter.
My partner and I started at the Indian corner, choosing chicken tikka, seekh kebabs, tarka daal and lamb curry, which were tasty.
I then tried the Chinese wok station, where you load your plate with ingredients including noodles, vegetables, chicken and seafood and ask the chef to whip up a stir-fry meal before you eyes. The combination of tasty, fresh ingredients and being able to choose what went into the meal made this my favourite of the evening.
We chose a deliciously sweet Thai rose wine to accompany the food, and although we were too full for pudding, the selection of cakes, sweets, pastries and fruit would be an indulgent way to end the meal.
Kitchin N1 is a great idea for those who want to sample different cuisines, and with the menu changing every day, you are guaranteed variety each time you visit.

“A must-try are the Chinese offerings, which are made to order by chefs who
conjure up foot-high flames on a grill...The stand out dishes are the
mouth-watering Szechuan Chicken and the exquisite squid in green
pepper and black bean sauce”

“I'm sure I was not the only one left waiting on the platform for my train at Kings Cross this Christmas?! I had time to go to Kitchin (for my 1st visit). It was ideal - it was good value, the food was great and I made it back in time for my train! I will definitely be heading back before my next train!”
